Chicheley Hall in Buckinghamshire always gets me excited. It gives me all the Bridgerton vibes, as though the old walls have witnessed centuries of romance, and now they're just waiting to be part of your love story too.

Your Wedding Day Flow

Chicheley Hall offers plenty of options for your ceremony. The Mansion House has space for up to 100 guests, where you can exchange vows surrounded by the hall's historic features, or you can choose to say ‘I do’ in the grounds like Kathleen and Charlie with a backdrop of the impressive 18th century facade.

If you have your hearts set on a church wedding, you'll love the convenience of the private path connecting St. Lawrence's church directly to Chicheley – no transportation hassles between ceremony and reception!

As your day progresses, the beautifully appointed Mansion House and versatile Wolfson Suite can both accommodate up to 110 guests for your wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. And if you're planning something larger, the stunning grounds can host marquee receptions for up to 600 people!

A Photographers Take

Having photographed a fair few weddings and events at Chicheley Hall I've discovered lots of hidden spots that create the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos.

The beautiful grounds offer so much variety for a creative photographer like me. I love guiding couples through the gardens, where the formal landscaping creates the perfect framing for romantic shots.

For something with more texture and character, we can explore the weathered stone walls and architectural details that tell stories of centuries past.

And as the seasons change Chicheley Hall transforms – spring blossoms, summer greenery, autumn colours, and winter frost each create entirely different but equally beautiful settings for your big day.

Even on rainy days (because, let's face it, you can't always rely on the British weather), the tall windows bathe the indoor spaces with soft, natural light so you won't miss out on stunning wedding photos should the weather take a turn for the worse!

But of course, it's not only about perfectly posed photographs. I primarily class myself as a documentary photographer who loves to capture the natural, authentic moment of your day and it's lovely to work at a venue like Chicheley Hall where even the candid shots have stunning backdrops because of just how beautiful each corner of this venue is.

A Team That Goes Above and Beyond

Of course I couldn't possibly write this without mentioning the amazing team that works tirelessly behind the scenes. It's one thing to have a breathtaking venue, but it's the people involved in your big day that make it (and the planning of it) what it is.

The Chicheley Hall team really understand that your wedding should feel unique to you, not just another event at their venue. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate special requests make planning your wedding feel effortless and your big day run smoothly.

And they're dog-friendly too! If you know me, you know just how much I love meeting four-legged family members at weddings so this gets a big thumb up from me.
